What is the MyMOM platform?

MyMOM is the centralised customer space developed by MOM. It is a digital portal that gives manufacturers direct access to all the data and documents relating to their machine fleet.

The platform is built around three main uses: production monitoring, documentation and spare parts management, and integration with the customer’s IT systems.

Monitoring production and analysing performance

MyMOM is fed in real time by data from the SmartConnect by MOM module. The customer has two levels of reading.

A 7-day summary dashboard

The dashboard displays actual production times and the number of doses or bottles produced. It provides an overview of major incidents, such as jams or stoppages. It also offers quick access to the machine’s manuals.

A detailed hour-by-hour report

The detailed report breaks down the machine’s activity over the day. It shows operating time by time slot, the duration of stoppages, and the complete list of faults with their exact duration.

A process optimisation tool

This data serves to analyse drops in throughput. It makes it possible to identify targeted malfunctions, remotely. A common example: recurring errors occurring on the night shift become visible and correctable. Data becomes a lever for continuous improvement.

Managing documentation and ordering spare parts

MyMOM digitalises and simplifies equipment maintenance. No more paper binders and back-and-forth e-mails.

Manuals and technical documentation

The customer accesses the diagrams and documentation binders for their machines directly. Everything is available online, up to date, in a single click.

An interactive spare parts catalogue

The platform lists all the wear parts drawn from the manuals. Each part is presented with dedicated visuals and images. Identification becomes far simpler than with plain exploded views.

Online quotation requests

The customer selects the parts they need. They generate a purchase request directly from the platform. This request is sent to MOM’s pricing department, which prepares the quotation. The process is faster and free of reference errors.

Integrating MyMOM into your IT system via REST API

Constantly consulting a web portal is not always practical for a manufacturer. MyMOM therefore offers a documented REST API.

This API makes it possible to export production data and machine status in JSON format. The customer thus connects MyMOM directly to their ERP. Machine data flows into the tools their teams already use, with no double entry or manual consultation.

This is a differentiating point. Few dosing machine manufacturers offer such open integration with their customers’ IT ecosystem.

A platform that keeps growing

MyMOM evolves regularly. Several complementary modules are planned to complete the offering.

Service request management: a ticketing space where the customer will be able to submit and track their technical support requests directly from their portal.

Electronic invoicing: the centralisation and online consultation of all customer invoices.

These developments follow the same logic: giving the customer autonomous, centralised access to everything concerning their machines.

A service close to industrial needs

MyMOM extends a conviction MOM Packaging has held since 1927: a machine’s performance does not stop at delivery. It also plays out in monitoring, maintenance, and parts availability throughout its lifetime.

Combined with the SmartConnect module, the MyMOM platform gives manufacturers complete visibility over their fleet, in France and in more than 60 countries.

What is SmartConnect?

SmartConnect is an IoT and remote maintenance box developed by MOM. It connects machines to networks and to the MyMOM platform. Its role is twofold: collecting production data and enabling remote intervention on equipment.

Collecting and analysing production data

SmartConnect records and processes hundreds of data points per second. This represents up to 90 million data points per day on a single machine.

This data covers the entire operation of the equipment. Machine status, production times, the number of bottles or doses produced, jams, motor data, the detailed list of faults and their duration: everything is captured.

The customer views this information on the MyMOM platform. They have access to a 7-day summary or a detailed hour-by-hour report. This visibility changes the way a line is managed.

A concrete example. A recurring drop in throughput on the night shift becomes identifiable in a few clicks. The customer traces the cause, corrects it, and improves their industrial process. Data becomes a continuous improvement tool.

Intervening remotely through remote maintenance

SmartConnect allows MOM technicians and automation engineers to connect to the machine in real time. They access the screen and the program through a secure VPN channel.

The possible interventions are numerous. Program modification, troubleshooting, adding features, readjusting regulatory parameters.

The benefit is direct for the customer. In the vast majority of cases, the intervention takes place without sending a technician on site. Resolution times are reduced. So are costs.

An architecture designed for cybersecurity

Connecting a production machine to the Internet raises a legitimate question: that of security. SmartConnect was designed to address it from the outset.

An outbound connection only

The box accepts no direct inbound connection. It is the box itself that initiates the connection to MOM’s servers, via the Internet or via a 4G router. This logic makes it possible to cross customer firewalls without creating an exploitable entry point.

Adapting to the strictest requirements

For sensitive sectors such as pharmaceuticals or luxury goods, the customer’s firewall can be finely configured. SmartConnect then communicates only with the unique IP addresses of MOM’s servers, and nothing else.

Decoupled functions

Data collection and the VPN remote maintenance channel are entirely independent. If the data side undergoes an update or a malfunction, the remote maintenance link remains active. One never depends on the other.

It is precisely for these reasons that our customers’ first cybersecurity teams approved its installation in their production workshops as early as 2015.

A flexible, scalable module

SmartConnect adapts to the real needs of workshops.

Simple reconfiguration: a box is reassigned to a new machine through a simple software change.

Multiple supervision: a single box can supervise two communicating machines at once, for example a filler and a capper.

Mobile troubleshooting: MOM can temporarily send a mobile box fitted with a 4G SIM card to troubleshoot a semi-automatic machine.

Included, then by subscription: the module is included for the first year, during the machine’s warranty. After that, access to the service continues on a subscription basis.

Eleven years ahead, in the service of our customers

Launching a connected module in 2015 was a bet. Eleven years on, it is a standard part of our offering. SmartConnect illustrates how MOM Packaging approaches service: anticipating needs, mastering the technology, and staying close to the real constraints of production.

Since 1927, MOM has designed and manufactured its machines in France. SmartConnect extends this expertise into the field of connected service, for our customers in France and in more than 60 countries.

“A very good first professional experience”

Fabrice joined MOM Packaging on an apprenticeship during his BUT in Computer Science. It was his first professional experience. He sums it up plainly: “For a first professional experience as part of my BUT in Computer Science, it was a very good experience.” He remembers concrete projects and learning alongside the teams.

“I developed and improved myMOM and the ERP”

On the software side, Fabrice worked on the company’s internal tools. “I developed and improved internal tools, in particular myMOM and the company ERP,” he explains. These applications serve the teams every day. He coded with JavaScript, Bootstrap, Docker and Git, from the business need through to production.

“I installed the PLCs and screens on the machines”

Fabrice did not stop at code. He also worked on the machines. “Once their construction was finished, I installed the PLCs and screens, then ran tests to check that they worked,” he recalls. This work let him discover how filling machines operate. This bridge between software and production makes his experience uncommon.

“The trust I was given”

Fabrice stresses the working environment. “I also remember the trust I was given throughout my apprenticeship,” he notes. In his end-of-contract message, he thanks the team for its support and the opportunities he received. People progress better when they are given real responsibilities.

“A very good memory”

Fabrice is now continuing his studies with a Master’s in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. He keeps, in his words, “a very good memory” of his time at MOM Packaging. His testimonial shows what a well-supported apprenticeship gives a young technical profile.

Doing your apprenticeship at MOM Packaging

Like Fabrice, an apprentice finds concrete technical and digital assignments at MOM Packaging, supported by a team. The company publishes its apprenticeship and job openings on L’Industrie recrute. The MOM Packaging careers page also introduces the company and its roles.

MOM Packaging supports industrials in more than 60 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Oceania, the Americas and East Asia.

Greater agility, greater responsiveness for our customers

The DMV110 is a high-performance 3-axis vertical machining centre. It is recognised for its rigidity and precision on large-format components.

Running several centres in parallel changes the daily reality of the workshop. Waiting times between machining operations decrease. Manufacturing lead times shorten. Responsiveness on urgent orders improves. Production peaks are absorbed and their impact on delivery schedules reduces.

Connected to MOM’s ERP, it displays in real time the modifications made by the design office located in the same building. In turn, the DMV transmits its manufacturing progress to the ERP in real time, enabling precise tracking of production and machining times for each component.

Why this investment?

At MOM Packaging, mechanical components are manufactured in-house. It is a commitment to our customers: quality, traceability, and powerful tools to gain in responsiveness.

As our business has grown, we continue to invest in our production tools to maintain this level of service. The DMV110 allows us to produce more, faster, and with a high level of finish. In practical terms: spare parts available more quickly, shorter lead times on custom orders, and a better response to urgent requests.

A direct impact on vertical auger manufacturing

One of the most concrete benefits concerns the manufacture of vertical augers. These are the central components of our powder filling machines.

The vertical auger conveys the powder and delivers the dose into the packaging. It comes in many versions. Diameter, pitch, length, geometry and number of flights vary depending on the product: proteins, spices, collagen, bicarbonate…

Manufacturing these augers in-house, with the required precision and within expected lead times, is a major challenge for MOM. Mastering the machining of these augers also allows great freedom in their design. In the past, this has made it possible to achieve particularly high dosing accuracy. Concretely, it is because MOM has designed and machined numerous trial augers that we have sold pharmaceutical powder filling machines for doses as low as 8 mg. The DMV110 directly increases our capacity to deliver on that.

Machining precision in the service of packaging

In industrial filling, the precision of machined components directly impacts dosing consistency. A vertical auger with imperfect geometry generates dosing irregularities on the production line. Before the latest generations of machining centres, the feed blades of dosing augers were welded onto the screws. Welding reduced dosing consistency by a few tenths of a percent. Since augers have been machined from solid blanks, we have observed this improvement in dose accuracy, to the direct benefit of our customers and end consumers.

MOM Packaging has always invested in high-level machining equipment. The DMG MORI DMV110 follows this same logic: high-performance tools, precise components, reliable machines.

A long-term service commitment

Investing in a new machining centre is a long-term commitment to our customers. A new machine provides greater availability and improves lead times on spare parts, even during peak activity.

At MOM Packaging, in-house manufacturing has been a constant since 1927. First with a single motor driving belt-driven lathes. Then the Ernault Somua lathes and conventional milling machines that lined up in the workshop. Then the NUM numerically controlled lathes. And finally the DMG machining centres, from 3-axis up to continuous 5-axis, and CNC turning centres.

Twenty years of trusted advice

This kind of investment does not happen by chance. Choosing a machining centre means committing significant resources over the long term. For over 20 years, MOM Packaging has trusted Daniel Caron, managing partner at id2b conseil and president of the Lycée Robert Schuman in Dugny.

An expert in industrial mechanics and SME management consulting, Daniel Caron brings a precise and valuable outside perspective. His experience at the crossroads of the industrial world and technical education makes him a rare advisor.

We warmly thank him for his support over two decades.

A new arrival in the MOM Packaging workshop

In a workshop, the arrival of new equipment never goes unnoticed. Between freeing up space, reorganizing access, and integrating it into the production flow, every new machine slightly changes the daily routine of the teams.

This new laser marking machine will allow MOM Packaging to directly mark certain spare parts with high precision, before assembly, storage, or shipment.

The goal is not only to improve production convenience. Above all, it aims to strengthen our ability to clearly identify parts, including those with specific shapes or dimensions.

High-precision laser marking, even on complex parts

Laser marking offers a high level of precision. It makes it possible to permanently identify technical parts, even when their geometry makes marking more challenging.

The new machine will notably allow us to mark cylindrical and conical parts, as well as very large components.

This is particularly important for MOM Packaging, as some parts used on our machines are neither flat nor standard. This includes certain augers, vertical bagging machine funnels, and columns.

Why mark spare parts?

Spare part marking addresses a very practical objective: improving component traceability throughout their lifecycle.

Clearly identified parts simplify work for workshop teams, while also supporting maintenance, replacement operations, and post-delivery follow-up.

For dosing and filling machines, this traceability helps better connect a part to a machine, a specific configuration, or a technical history.

A concrete improvement in traceability

Traceability does not rely only on technical documents or records. It also depends on directly identifying parts whenever relevant.

With this new laser marking machine, MOM Packaging strengthens its ability to mark parts precisely and durably. This improvement applies to both standard parts and more specific components, particularly those used in large-scale equipment.

This initiative helps improve internal organization, spare part preparation, and long-term component tracking.

An investment supporting industrial quality

The arrival of this laser marking machine reflects an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. At MOM Packaging, investing in the workshop also means improving processes, traceability, and the quality of service delivered to customers.

This new equipment is therefore more than just an additional machine. It is a precision tool supporting manufacturing, part identification, and industrial traceability.
